Comments:

I have an unholy love affair with coats that rivals my walking stick and pocket watch obsessions. A stylish and well put together coat seems to be a rarity in SL.  Moreover, a multi pieced coat often negates the ability to wear other clothing pieces beneath. However, when I spied the Redemption coat on XStreet, I knew I had to have it regardless of cost or how many system clothing pieces it would consume. I was delighted that the only system clothing piece the Redemption coat uses was the coat piece (and I must mention that the prim components are very well crafted).

The coat itself is luxurious and opulent without being gaudy or excessive. It’s truly a well put together ensemble with options for resizing (via a script or you can still tinker manually if you so choose) and accessories (with or without sash and scarf). The gothic cross adornments are subtle and elegant.

Personally, I find the priestly coat and hat (hat is purchased separately) very reminiscent of Vampire Hunter D or perhaps, residing on the other side of the coffin, Alucard (from Hellsing). Regardless of your predilection (vampire, vampire hunter, man of the cloth, or a fashionably attired gentleman), the Redemption coat deserves to be added to your collection.

Worth noting, the coat drapes perfectly over one’s body, and moves very realistically.

Initially I had thought the resizing script would be maddening, not being a fan of such clothing options, but cleverly, the coat allows for individual piece resizing or general resizing of the entire ensemble. And for those, like myself, who are suspicious of resizing scripts, one can easily edit these modifiable pieces.

The hat, while beautifully detailed, shades the eyes and upper face for a more mysterious look. I found this unsuitable for my fox avatar, and shifted it about with my human avatar. Again, the hat being modifiable, it’s simple enough to customize the appearance.

The coat is very fur friendly and I experienced no texture clashing or other issues with my fox avatar.

Appropriate footwear was an issue, as is often the case with myself. I’m not a fan of bulky boots or imitating Frankenstein’s monster. I had considered Aura Shop’s Combat Leather Boots would make a fine accessory, but as no demo is available, I cannot speak further to this. The Combat Leather Boots are resizable, but not modify, and one never truly knows how one will look in footwear until they are worn.
